Te voy a decir una cosa, no se si eres mexicana
o no, la gente en mexico nos encomendamos todos los dias a la imagen que tu
corrompiste, en mexico un dia de el año millones de personas vamos
a agradecer la dicha de tener algo que es muy nuestro, en una capillas de
el vaticano existe una imagen de la Virgen de Guadalupe, El papa en su despacho
tiene una imagen de La Guadalupana, yo he vivido los milagros de la virgen,
el simple hecho de convocar a miles de Mexicanos en un iglesia se me hace
un milagro, unidos con esa sola intencion de estar con ella en su dia y cantarle
las mañanitas
La Verdad no creo que seas mexicana un mexicano
ama y respeta a su madre en la tierra y a la del cielo

Dear Alma,
I would first like to start off by saying that I think you are an important
and strong voice for the chican@ community, and your art is extremely important
to us. We need to continue to create a space for ourselves, and it is
artists such as yourself that give us the strength and inspiration to do so.
Secondly, I am a reporter for KUNM radio here
in Albuquerque NM, which is a public, community-based radio station.
I was wondering if you would be interested in doing an interview over the
phone some time in the next week, as I am doing a story about it, and also
will be covering the rally on Saturday. I also was wondering if you
might be able to get me in touch with others who could offer a strong chican@
and/or lesbian and/or feminist perspective on the issue. So far I have
emailed the other artists featured in the exhibition, Marion, Teresa, and
Elena, and am waiting their responses as well.
