Julie Grados

Hello! My name is Julie Grados and I am a student at Loyola Marymount University majoring in Theology and double minoring in Chicana/o Studies and Biology. I am a first generation Mexican-American and first in my family to complete a higher education degree. I will complete my B.A. degree from LMU in May 2009 and I plan to continue my education at the University of Santa Monica. I will pursue an M.A. in Spiritual Psychology. An important fact about myself is that similar to Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, education & books have always been my passions in life. I am delighted to have researched Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz for CHST 302: Latinas/os in the US Web site Project because this project allowed me to do interdisciplinary work in the areas of Theology and Chicana/o Studies. Through my research I was able to discover Sor Juana's drive for books and education as well as her agency to fight for women's rights to education and speak against the affects of patriarchy. Overall, the most impressive of all of Sor Juana's accomplishments is the fact that she continues to exert a positive impact on all women scholars.
