Born to Mexican immigrant parents in 1938,Graciela Limon has lived much of her life in the Los Angeles Area. At an early age she was interested in reading and writing and showedearly on a promising career in the field. As a daughter and a first generation born she was discouraged by her parents a well as her high school to persue a career in a profession more oriented for a woman. Upon graduating she began to work and in the process saved money to further her education in progress towards her Bachelor of Arts, then her Master of Arts, and finally her Doctoral degree. Her work primarily touches on accounts and histories from not onlyMexico but also Central America. Graciela Limon's words are thevoice of the unheard and the largely ignored such as indigenous population or of women. |
